How do I create a product catalog for my event?

You can now create multiple catalogs, outside of the event creation process, and reuse them for your events. You can do this before your event has been created, or even after!

Note: This article contains information related to the new Livescale experience and may not be applicable to the old experience.  

 

To create a catalog, go to your Store and find the Catalogs tab. Click the “Create New Catalog” button in the bottom right corner of your screen. Pick a title, then choose between CSV file upload, manual, or Shopify to add products to your new catalog. 

Manual product import

  • Click “Curate” to start adding products, or click “Done” to come back to this step later.
  • Copy the URL of your PDP (Product Detail Page) and let our importer retrieve your product information.
  • If needed, make any changes before adding the product as you will not be able to edit the product information. (Note: product edit function is coming soon!) 
  • Once you have added all your products, you can drag and drop the products in the desired order. No need to save — this is done automatically.  
  • If you need to change details about a particular product, delete the product and re-upload it with the correct information. 
  • If you want to remove a product from your catalog, you can select it and click “Remove”.

Caution: If the product description text on your ecommerce website is too long, it may not be fully imported. Make sure to always check if your product description has been fully imported. If not, you can add whatever text is missing — there is no limit. Our product importer limits the amount of text that can be imported in one go when it is too long, in case the metadata that is imported has been improperly tagged.

CSV product import

  • Use the provided CSV template to create a file with all your products.
  • Once you upload your file, select the products you would like to add to your Livescale catalog.
  • Once you have added all your products, you can drag and drop the products in the desired order. No need to save — this is done automatically.
  • If you need to change details about a particular product, update this information in your CSV file and re-upload it. Only new information will be detected in your CSV, so your other products will remain in the catalog and will not be duplicated.
  • If you want to remove a product from your catalog, you can select it and click “Remove”.

Note: You cannot have 2 products with the same name in the CSV product import, but you can have 2 products with the same link.

Shopify product import

  • Click “Curate” to start adding products, or click “Done” to come back to this step later.
  • Select a collection that contains the product(s) you would like to import into your Livescale catalog. You can select more than one product from more than one collection.

Note: Make sure that both your products and collections are published to your Livescale sales channel in the Shopify admin panel. If you cannot see the collection(s) and/or (product(s) you are looking for, that means they are not yet available to be used on Livescale. 

  • Select the products you would like to add and click "Add to Catalog". 
  • Once you have added all your products, you can drag and drop the products in the desired order. No need to save — this is done automatically.
  • If you want to remove a product from your catalog, you can select it and click “Remove”.

Now, you can schedule an event, and add your catalog to your event!
