How do I customize my event's checkout redirection options?

If you are using the Redirected Checkout experience, you can choose where to redirect your viewers for them to complete their purchase on your e-commerce site.

1. Find your event and go to Customization.

2. In the Commerce section, under Checkout Experience, select Redirected Checkout

3. Under Redirect to, select which step in the checkout process your viewers are redirected to when they proceed to complete their purchase on your e-commerce site. The following options are available, with each one detailed later in this article:

  1. Product Page
  2. Checkout
  3. Payment

3. Select your product Catalog.

Note: For Redirection at Checkout or Redirection at Payment, you must use a Shopify-connected product catalog. You cannot use a manual or CSV import catalog for these two redirection options. 

 


Redirect at Product Page

Here are the steps that a shopper would go through: 

  1. Click on product (either from product highlight or catalog).
  2. Click the call to action button (one of the following options, depending on Event settings: Add To Bag, Buy Now, Learn More, Sign Up, Open Link).
  3. Get redirected from Livescale to the Product page on Shopify.
  4. Add product to cart or keep browsing, before eventually getting to Checkout. 

Redirect at Checkout

Here are the steps that a shopper would go through: 

  1. Click on product (either from product highlight or catalog).
  2. Click Add To Bag button.
  3. Click on My Bag icon.
  4. Click Go To Checkout button.
  5. Get redirected from Livescale to the Checkout page on Shopify, where they input their contact, delivery and payment information on Shopify.

Note: If your event is embedded on your page, the viewer will exit the event as soon as they are redirected to the Checkout page, as Shopify does not allow any external widgets or integrations on this page, so the Picture-in-Picture widget will no longer be available. If your event is not embedded, the Checkout page will simply open in a new tab on your browser. 

Redirect at Payment

Here are the steps that a shopper would go through: 

  1. Click on product (either from product highlight or catalog).
  2. Click Add To Bag button.
  3. Click on My Bag icon.
  4. Click on Checkout button.
  5. Enter contact email address.
  6. Enter shipping address.
  7. Select shipping method.
  8. Click on Go To Payment.
  9. Get redirected from Livescale to the Payment information section on the Checkout page on Shopify, with all other information already copied from Livescale.

Note: If your event is embedded on your page, the viewer will exit the event as soon as they are redirected to the Checkout page, as Shopify does not allow any external widgets or integrations on this page, so the Picture-in-Picture widget will no longer be available. If your event is not embedded, the Checkout page will simply open in a new tab on your browser. 

Note: As soon as a shopper confirms their email address on Livescale, you will get their information in the Abandoned Checkouts on the Shopify Admin Panel if they do not complete their purchase, as you normally would on your website.
